Wow, the amount of birthdays for this month is pretty amazing XD. I have other friends outside lj that also had birthdays. Crazy super crazy.

Sorry I have been so quiet lately, I have been pretty busy and too tired to do my own entry so for the next few days or so, i will be just commenting on people's journals when possible. Maybe by next week I will be able to actually write the many delayed entries and post stuff. SIGH.

Wow, I feel old. I started reading Sandman in high school around 1990. This makes me a fan for 18 years!

Wow, two people in my flist having their b-days on the same day! I HOPE YOU HAVE A PHENOMENAL TIME!!
At this moment I wish I knew had to do sparkly text but my HTML skills are nonexistent ^_^;;;
 

So I have a dilemma. This issue of B's Log is a special issue for girl's games. While I can stick to scanning the BL games (more Sweet Pool, btw!) I was planning to scan the FF and Persona 4  features (these two features will also be posted in /cgl/...for some reason, I am feeling generous but that might go away XD)  but the rest, is kinda just for my lj flist. 

I am posting the cover and the table of contents for people to choose from. The most requested features will be scanned. I have to apologize in advance if requests to scan the whole magazine are disregarded, unfortunately, I am unable to do that.

 Unfortunately, Youka Nitta has cancelled her appearance at Yaoi-con this year. This is probably due to the recent discovery that she used real fashion photo shoots to draw art for her series and she had to issue an apology to the artists. Be Boy Gold has also removed Haru wo Daiteta from their website. Hopefully, Nitta-sensei will be able to weather the storm. 

Now...why doesn't Yamane-Sensei and Sakurai-sensei come backkkkkkk. PRETTY PLEASE? Regardless, I will be at Yaoi-con this year. Preliminary plans include:

I am kinda excited but stressed out about the work I need to do HUR (like I have two months to finish Rai and Bardo's routes! :O) and find goodies for raffles as well as making up my mind re: BB panel. SIGH, not to mention finishing cosplay schtuff. So much to do, so little time to do it along with RL. Anyway, I will persevere!

Comments, questions are welcome in this post. PLANNNIG FOR AI NO KUSABI TOO IF ANYONE DARES TO DO IT WITH ME XD! I am wondering about shoulder pads already. So happy Joann opened a new store in El Cerrito. I believe I will be there A LOT in the next month or so.

For those of you who didn't, I went to see Hellboy II yesterday and I had a blast! It was funny and full of actions (and kittens!) I actually thought the movie was EXCELLENT and Guillermo del Toro did a wonderful job. Half of the time, I was cheering for the antagonist (i am not going to call him "bad guy" because that is not what he was, it was ambiguous in my opinion). Anyway, I highly recommend it! I love del Toro, ever since I saw "Cronos" I have pretty much been a fan XD.

Not much going on in my side of things besides working, volunteering. I want to finish some of the unfinished projects for AX before Yaoi-con and I need to prepare panels, raffle prizes, etc. This is my working con so I am pretty much running around everywhere (separate Y-con post will go up later with some plans.)  I wanted to go to Sac Anime but the timing is not that great, usually, the end of August is pretty hectic for me and I am pretty booked. SIGH, and here i wanted to visit so many people :(

I still have not done that entry with the Toshihiko Seki pics I took at the panel and afterwards, as well as my thoughts on the COSMODE panel with Dosai-san. It was interesting to hear what he had to say. 

Did a quick run at Kino yesterday. Got a copy of Mr. Morning 2, a Trinity Blood novel (I am rather upset Tokyo Pop is stopping publication of the novels, they are so good and in my opinion, a must read for ANY TB fan that has been waiting to see them for so long!) and a copy of B's Log August. I need to scan some stuff but I was thinking that while I find girl games kinda fun design wise, the premise is kinda boring to be honest. Maybe that is why I like  BL games more with the cliches and all?  The issue of the magazine is actually a special on women's games. I actually bought Vitamin X Evolution at AX but I have not played at all. I hesitate because 1) it is in Japanese  2) I can choose between the teachers and students...but how? Anyway, scans probably later tonight.

So the highlights of AX for me were:

1) SEKI TOSHIHIKO PANEL

2) SEKI TOSHIHIKO SIGNING. I had him sign that HUGE Sanzo poster I had from an Animage from years ago. That is because I forgot to bring the Sanzo song collection I had just bought SPECIFICALLY for the event. 

3) Ouran Host Club visit. Hahahaha, I swear, when Karla (cosplaying Mori) gave me her arm to guide me to the table, I blushed to the tips of my ears. Lucky me, I have dark skin but, ummm, I was like *_____*. Thanks to everyone there for saying hello to me. I had a giggle at the girl in front of me, I asked her "who are you requesting?" and she looked at me like I was crazy "The twins, OF COURSE!" Ello and Chas were super popular I take it?

4) Checking to see what the dance looked like and seeing Cloud trying to teach Tifa how to lock and pop (yes, I am not kidding XD) and a SMOKING HOT, Ukoku sanzo with his robes undone. It was also a boy!!!! I swear, Minekura new EXACTLY what she was doing when she drew those gloves.

5) SEEING MY FRIENDS AND MY MOM ! 

6) Running into awesome Kuroshitsuji cosplay (you guys know who you are)

7) COSMODE panel. I will have a separate entry for that because I found it interesting.

8) Shopping? I guess so XD. BUYING THAT WTF! DJ at the yaoi-con booth XD. Need to scan it.

CONS

1) WALKING IN THE HEAT. At least it was just two blocks but wearing Konoe's Asato ending outfit was hell. I didn't wear it for long. 

2) Not wearing Undertaker. Well, see #1 for the reason.

3) MISSING PEOPLE. OMG EVE! And others too (Ryuichi and PL as Goku and Sanzo ;_;) not seeing more of Karla, kawaiiaya and Ello. SAD TIMES.

Photos won't go up until tomorrow. I have a double shift today and I had one yesterday so I had little time to resize the pics and upload to my cosplay.com account. Although I *did* upload a few pics of my outfit on my Cure account but took less time 'cause I used Al's photos. 

In all, I had fun and did a few things I have not done in a while (like attending panels) and saw you awesome people. I just need to remind myself to make lighter outfits for cons like AX. Layers is not for the summer XD.

Umm, I need to give myself some work so I don't get in trouble. Laters...

While I still have some details to finish (stuff tail, paint tips and put clips on ears) I am basically done for now. I am debating whether I want to bring my sewing machine in case of an accident or if I need to change something last minute. I probably will.  
Some stuff will get done on the ride down...I also plan to take naps.

Lined up most of my costumes and now I just need to dig Ukoku out of the closet (ROFL, that sounded...funny XD) and pack my real clothes and I think I will be ready. G. needs to pack the Wii and the games he wants to bring. I am bringing my DS and I think that is all I can handle.

I will probably make a little post in a few hours before I leave for AX to give more info re: phone and hotel. 

Maybe I should take a nap?  Although for some reason...I am hungry ;_;

Managed to finish Konoe's cape only to discover...that the top part is too big. SIGH. At least I believe I can cut part of that and fix it a little. This is the first time I lined something...and I am not sure if I want to do it all the time. I just didn't want the cape to have the raw side of the fabric showing. All that is left is to make the chest straps and the ears and tail.  I also need to add the cords to both the shirt and the coat once I fix it. I think so far, I will have it done in time for AX.

My secret cosplay for AX was going to be Uri, the orange tabby twin from Lamento. I had EVERYTHING including the boots and wig but I just didn't get to do the top. I almost feel like just pulling a big sweater from my closet and do a ghetto version. But that bothers me, I kinda like to get as close as possible to the outfit when I cosplay. I am a little bummed about that but I will concentrate now on finishing Konoe and then styling the wig for Bishop. I also need to fix the apron for Konoe's original outfit as well as redo Undertaker's hat (the ribbon came off the hat...I think I might have stepped on it. So I am gluing it this time instead of sewing it). The other project I might do on my way down to L.A is fixing Undertaker's belt. I have bigger medals to add. At least it isn't too bad. Laundry and packing between tomorrow and Tuesday and then DRIVING TIME! 

Okay, time to hit the sack, I need to get up in 5 hours to go to work. Man, I wish I could take an extra day so I have at least a good 24 hours to get stuff done. But then, Tuesday is a really busy day at work so, I have no choice. 

Oh and I almost cancelled going to AX but I decided that me and Geoff need a vacation. It will be good.  Therefore, I am really looking forward to seeing people.
